There are three things you need to
consider when it comes to website traffic. But let's firstly think about
where that traffic is likely to come from. The chances are you will
generate hits from the major Search Engines, when people search for
their key words. With this in mind, let's talk about the three golden
rules: 1. You need to make sure that the words
you want to generate Search Engine traffic are actually contained within
the text of your website. Sounds obvious doesn't it? But you'd be amazed
at the amount of websites we come across that don't actually contain
words on the home page. Flashy images may look great, but they don't
sell products!
2. The Search Engines just love content, so you need
to make sure your website carries lots of material that will add value
for your visitors. In this way, you will be rewarded by the search
engine rankings.
3. Finally, make sure the content is actually relevant
to what your website is all about. Again, it sounds obvious but it's
hugely important.
If you don't have time to
write your own content you can pay someone to do it for you or you might
consider searching for a related article and provided you have the
author's permission, you can post the content on your website. Make sure
the content is 'keyword rich'. In other words, you need to be
certain that the article or content will carry words that your visitors
are likely to search for.
It's that simple and good luck with implementing your
strategy!
